Why Should We Do Hijama
Hijama reminds us that true healing comes from Allah. The treatment itself is a means, but the cure lies in His will. When practiced with sincerity, trust in Allah, and adherence to the Sunnah, Hijama becomes a source of barakah (blessing) in one’s health journey.
These Hadith clearly demonstrate that Hijama is a form of prophetic medicine (Tibb-e-Nabawi), offering both physical cure and spiritual blessing. The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H) emphasized cupping as one of the most beneficial remedies, alongside honey and cauterization, and described it as a means of relief, detoxification, and healing for the body and soul.
From migraines and back pain to internal imbalances and emotional stress, Hijama has been mentioned as a cure for many conditions. The Hadith also give guidance on:
When to perform it (e.g. the 17th, 19th, and 21st nights of the lunar month),where it was applied on the body, and its role in mental clarity, strength, and spiritual well-being.
Furthermore, even the angels affirmed its benefits during the Prophet’s Night Journey (Isra’), urging him to instruct his Ummah to practice it.
By learning and applying these Hadith, Muslims can revive a Sunnah, seek Shifa (healing) through Halal means, and connect more deeply with the wisdom of our beloved Prophet
